The Chillicothe Center for the Arts is a transparent 501.c(3) Missouri Corporation established in 2018 to serve and accommodate arts-related organizations and businesses within the Chillicothe’s Arts District. We strive to create the most successful opportunities for budding entrepreneurs by providing a semi-shared office, retail, and workspace in close proximity with more experienced established complementary organizations and entrepreneurs. Our goal is what we call “Artified!” where a shared space on a grand scale can create its own synergy within a self-sustaining Arts District. Artified! is Inspiration Unleashed!
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit; but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself, Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others.” Philippians 2:3-4
The Chillicothe Center for the Arts was born under the precept that we can all learn to appreciate and become more valuable to each other through our collective appreciation for the various art forms. The wider the variety of arts, the greater our exposure to them, and the broader the audiences, the more we benefit culturally as a people.
An artist’s aim is to enrich our understanding of life by creatively expressing their perspectives of certain truths. Maybe we can’t agree with their methods or alternative perspectives, but even our attempt to understand them makes us more complete; makes us whole.
The purpose of Artified! is to anchor and unleash the potential for Chillicothe’s Locust Street Arts District to our collective benefit. We will do this by creating alternative venues where arts-related non-profit organizations can reach a broader, more diverse audience by promoting of a wider variety of arts. We accomplish this while bringing to light the City’s rich history as a cultural hub, as well as providing many opportunities for entrepreneurs.
